Welcome!
Founded in 1992, the PianoWorks' curriculum is based on classical study and is taught by a faculty of qualified, highly-trained and professional instructors. We teach students of all levels, abilities, ages, and interests. We provide a strong foundation of music knowledge through careful use of method books, classical curriculum, and popular music. We also offer students the opportunity to learn functional piano skills including improvisation, lead sheet techniques, and playing by ear to round out their piano studies.
Students in grades K-12 participate in two recitals per year. Kindergarten through 7th grade students receive prize incentives through our innovative Music SuperStars program. Students in 8th-12th grades are encouraged to participate in our older student practice incentive program. We send weekly emails with fun activities and helpful articles to supplement their musical education. Students are offered opportunities for performances at festivals and contests throughout the year to provide further musical enrichment as well as training at a higher level. Additionally, all students are offered performance opportunities through our recitals and at local senior centers to share music in the community.
PianoWorks teaches adult students of all levels. Lessons are tailored to the student's needs and musical preferences while still creating a strong foundation of musical basics.
PianoWorks Music Studio has a studio location in Lewisville and teaches students of all levels. We do not require an interview for placement.
PianoWorks' Director, Erica Prescott, and Assistant Director, Resa Carrell, are Nationally Certified Teachers of Music with the Music Teachers National Association. They provide lessons from their home studios. We do employ student teachers to teach beginning students who also travel to student homes. Teacher availability varies.
